The Walkington Soldiers
The 11th of November 2018 marks the 100th Anniversary of the end of the First World War.
In Walkington the Great War took its toll with 26 men going off to fight, never to return.
The 35 life size silhouettes commemorate the men from the village who died for their country in
WW1, WW2 and Korea.
Each Silhouette bears the name of a serviceman and has a single poppy.
They were distributed around the village close to where the men lived.

Each one is made from contour cut gloss black aluminium composite with applied white vinyl lettering.
